Koning Quarterly: Expanding Access to Comfortable, Compression-Free Breast Imaging

At Koning, our mission is to make breast imaging more comfortable while providing doctors with technology to help them evaluate breast tissue. This quarter, we’re excited to share updates on new Koning Vera Breast CT installations, upcoming events, and a broader conversation about the future of breast health.

New Vera Installations: More Access Points for Patients

Pink Medical – New York City
Patients in New York now have more options when it comes to breast imaging. Pink Medical is a new clinic on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, featuring the Koning Vera Breast CT and giving more women in the Big Apple access to a 3D breast imaging system that does not require compression. To set up an appointment, contact the clinic via their website.

Mount Sinai Medical Center – Miami Beach, FL
We’re especially proud to share that Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami—one of Florida’s leading hospitals—has installed Vera as part of its Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to serving patients, the system at Mount Sinai will also support clinical research, helping expand knowledge about advanced breast imaging.

Our recent installations have been making headlines, with news outlets highlighting how Vera is bringing compression-free breast imaging technology to more communities. You can explore our latest announcements here: Koning Press Release Page.

Looking Ahead: RSNA 2025

This November, Koning will once again attend the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago, the world’s largest medical imaging meeting. While RSNA is primarily for healthcare professionals, it’s an important moment for patients as well—events like these help introduce new technologies to doctors and hospitals around the world. If you or your physician will be in attendance, stop by to see our system and get a demo in the Swissray booth (#2980).

Talking About the Future of Breast Imaging

Naomi Cosman (Global Head of Marketing) and David Georges (President, Koning US) recently joined the Healthy Enterprise Podcast to talk about the future of breast imaging. The conversation explored:

  • Why comfort matters: The physical discomfort of traditional breast exams often prevents women from keeping up with recommended imaging. Vera was designed to change that experience by removing compression.
  • Innovation in women’s health: Technologies like breast CT represent the next chapter in giving doctors new tools to visualize breast tissue in three dimensions.
  • Expanding access: From community clinics to major cancer centers, Vera is being adopted in diverse care settings, ensuring more women have the opportunity to benefit when their doctor prescribes the exam.

This dialogue reflects a growing movement in healthcare: centering the patient experience in innovation, so women feel empowered—not anxious—when it comes to breast imaging. Watch the episodes here:

Why This Matters – Especially During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to education, advocacy, and empowerment around early detection and care. At Koning, we believe awareness also means giving patients access to imaging technologies that prioritize comfort and clarity.

  • Comfort matters: A gentler exam can encourage more women to follow through on their doctor’s recommendations.
  • Clarity matters: Advanced imaging helps physicians better evaluate breast tissue when an exam is prescribed.
  • Access matters: With installations expanding in large metropolitan areas like New York, Miami, and beyond, more women are gaining the option to experience Vera as part of their breast care journey.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is not only a reminder of how far we’ve come in the fight against breast cancer—it’s also a call to keep improving the tools available to both patients and doctors. Every new installation of Vera brings us one step closer to that goal.
