    Abstract

This pilot study compared cone-beam breast CT to mammography regarding radiation dose, breast coverage, and image quality. Results showed similar radiation doses and detection of masses/calcifications between the two methods. Cone-beam breast CT provided better coverage in certain areas but poorer coverage in the axilla. The study concludes that cone-beam breast CT effectively images the entire breast with comparable radiation dose to mammography.
