    Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2023

At Koning, every month stands for breast cancer awareness. But as landmarks like the Empire State Building glow pink, we are deeply moved by the global attention each October brings to the cause. Through this international health campaign, honoring those whose lives are touched by the disease is a symbol of connection and a reminder that we are not alone.

Since 1989, deaths from breast cancer have dropped by 43% because of earlier detection and better treatment regimens. According to the American Cancer Society, the average risk of dying in the five years following a diagnosis has also dropped from 14% to 5%.

Outcomes are indeed getting better and better. However, one in eight women in America will still be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetimes. Perhaps the most staggering statistic comes from the Mammography Quality Standards Act: As many as 44 million screening-aged women skip their annual mammograms, even though we know that consistent screenings are the most effective way of spotting breast cancer early before it spreads to other parts of the body.

Barriers like lack of access, painful compression, and the high cost of getting to the screening location or the appointment itself are keeping more than half of the women eligible for mammograms from attending their preventative screenings.

    Women deserve better.

The success of our Koning Vera Breast CT device is driven by our dedication to research and development, as well as expanding and ensuring pain-free access for everyone. We offer comprehensive training and education to healthcare providers who use the Koning Vera Breast CT, making sure that clinics are able to achieve optimal results and provide the best possible care.
