    Non- Alcoholic Beverages for the Holidays

    Celebrations during the holidays is a time when some people are more likely to drink beyond their limits than at other times of the year. Unfortunately, the use of alcohol is linked to many types of cancer, including breast cancer, and even moderate alcohol use isn’t risk-free.

    Without taking away from outings and family time, the new holiday season is a chance to give non-alcoholic cocktails and drinks a chance. Our mulled wine recipe holds the traditional flavors of cinnamon and cloves, with a (typically Nordic) twist of almond flakes and raisins as toppings. 

    Mulled “Wine” 

    Serves 6

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups of blackurrant juice (concentrated or fresh)
    • 2 cups apple juice
    • 0,5 cups water
    • 1 small knob of fresh ginger 
    • 5 whole cloves
    • 1 orange sliced
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • Flaked almonds to taste
    • Raisins to taste

    Instructions:

    Add the blackcurrant juice, apple juice, water, ginger, cloves, orange slices, and cinnamon stick into a small pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5min, serve hot with flaked almonds and raisins.
